Pinch Meals and M&S Pistachio Products Recalled Over Salmonella

October 8, 2026
FSA-PRIN-48-2026

Greencore has recalled five products after Salmonella was detected in pistachios used to make them. The 8 October alert covers two Pinch meals, sold exclusively at Tesco, and three M&S products. The FSA notice lists the affected packs and date ranges.

What You Should Do

Do not eat the affected products. Return them to the retailer for a full refund; no receipt is required. Match the product name, size and use-by range, as the cut-off differs between products.

Why One Ingredient Can Affect Several Products

The pistachios connect a curry-and-rice meal, wholefood products and a pesto in this notice. That makes checking by product name more useful than searching only for bags of nuts. Greencore is the manufacturer named in the alert, while shoppers will see Pinch or M&S on the packs.

If you bought several of these items, check each one separately. A date that falls outside the pesto range tells you nothing about a different meal or salad. Keep the packaging available when arranging a refund so the retailer can identify the product.

If You Have Already Eaten It

The FSA lists fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps as typical Salmonella symptoms. It advises staying away from work, school or nursery until symptoms have stopped for at least 48 hours.

The NHS food-poisoning guidance advises calling 111 for bloody diarrhoea or vomiting that prevents you keeping fluids down. Tell the clinician which recalled product you ate.

Read the official FSA notice for any updates to the product list or advice.
