Lidl Snaktastic Multigrain Bites Recalled Over Foil Pieces

January 26, 2026
FSA-PRIN-04-2026

Foil in a packet of crisps isn't something you'd ever spot until it's already in your mouth. Lidl GB is recalling a batch of its Snaktastic Multigrain Bites Sour Cream & Black Pepper after it emerged the snacks may contain pieces of foil, which makes them a possible choking hazard and unsafe to eat. These are a six-pack multibag, the kind that ends up in lunchboxes and snack drawers, so it's worth a quick check if you've bought them recently.

What's Affected

  • Product: Snaktastic Multigrain Bites Sour Cream & Black Pepper
  • Pack size: 150g (6 x 25g)
  • Batch code: 207 345
  • Best before: 04 April 2026

Only this one batch is affected. The batch code and best-before date are printed on the packaging, so check those before you do anything else. Multipacks bought outside this batch aren't part of the recall.

What You Should Do

  • Don't eat them. Foil fragments are a choking risk and can cut the mouth or throat, and because these go into the bags loose, you won't see it coming the way you might with a hard lump in food.
  • Return them to any Lidl GB store for a full refund. Point-of-sale notices explaining the recall are up in stores.
  • Check the kids' snacks too. These small 25g bags are easy to hand out to children, who are more vulnerable to choking and less likely to notice something's wrong. If any of the six bags from an affected pack are still going, pull them.
  • Bought a different batch? If your pack isn't batch 207 345, it's safe to eat. This recall is purely about the one contaminated batch.

Why Foil Ends Up in a Snack Bag

Snacks like these are made on fast-moving lines where the seasoning, the bites and the foil-lined packaging all come together at speed. Once a stray piece of foil slips into the mix and the bag is sealed, a shopper has almost no chance of spotting it. That's why a single batch can trigger a full recall. Contamination cases like this come up often enough, and the FSA alerts page is the most reliable place to keep track of what's being pulled from shelves.
