Unilever has recalled a batch of Pot Noodle Piri Piri Chicken Flavour because it contains milk that is not declared on the label. The 2 October FSA alert identifies a risk for people with a milk allergy or intolerance to milk or its constituents.
If you have a milk allergy, do not eat the affected product. Return it to the shop where you bought it for a full refund. Unilever’s Consumer Care Line is 0800 146 252 if you need further information or help with the recall.
The flavour name identifies the product, but the batch code identifies the recalled stock. If you have several pots, read each lid rather than assuming they were all made together because you bought them on the same shopping trip. Check the 90g size and May 2027 date alongside the code.
A long best-before date can make an instant snack easy to overlook in a cupboard. It does not cancel an allergen recall. The government’s guide to food dates explains that best-before dates concern quality; they do not tell you whether a food is suitable for your allergy.
Someone buying this flavour regularly may rely on the ingredients list to avoid milk. Once the manufacturer reports that milk is present but missing from that list, the recall becomes the information they need to act on. The notice does not explain how the labelling problem arose, so it would be speculation to attribute it to a recipe change or a packing mix-up.
Keep the lid or a photograph of its code if you need to discuss the product with the shop or Unilever. If the pot was bought for someone else, let them know about the alert before they use it.
