Skinny Crunch Peanut Bar Recall Now Includes Sainsbury’s Stores in Wales

October 14, 2026
FSA-AA-45-2026-update-1

Halo Foods has recalled Skinny Crunch Light Peanut Butter Bars after they were packed in Skinny Whip Toffee bar wrappers. The incorrect wrappers do not list peanuts, creating a risk for anyone with a peanut allergy. The updated FSA notice issued on 14 October now includes selected Sainsbury’s stores in Wales.

What’s Affected

  • Product inside: Skinny Crunch Light Peanut Butter Bars
  • Incorrect individual wrapper: Skinny Whip Toffee
  • Pack size: 5 x 20g
  • Batch code: 6238, with the time range 08:30–10:30
  • Best before: August 2027
  • Where supplied: Selected Sainsbury’s stores in England and Wales, and selected ASDA stores in England and Scotland

What You Should Do

Do not eat the affected bars. Return them to the shop where you bought them for a full refund. Keep the individual wrappers and outer packaging available when checking the purchase or asking the retailer for help.

What Changed on 14 October

The original notice covered selected Sainsbury’s stores in England. The update adds selected stores in Wales; the ASDA coverage remains England and Scotland. If you ruled out a Sainsbury’s purchase in Wales after reading the first alert, check it again against the updated notice.

The pack size, batch and time range, and August 2027 best-before date are unchanged. This update expands the stated store coverage rather than adding another batch.

Why Both Product Names Matter

The alert names the peanut bar, but the person opening one may see only a toffee wrapper. That mismatch matters if bars have been separated from their multipack and put in a lunch bag or handed to someone else. Reading the incorrect wrapper’s ingredients cannot resolve the missing peanut information.

Check the batch and time range alongside the best-before date. A toffee wrapper alone does not establish whether a bar belongs to this recalled stock. If you no longer have enough packaging to identify it, ask the retailer to help before offering it to someone with a peanut allergy.

Check Bars Set Aside for Later

The August 2027 date means affected bars may remain in cupboards after the first announcement. Check each multipack you kept, and pass the recall link to anyone you gave bars to so they can check their own packaging. Include both names when explaining the issue: the food inside is a peanut bar, while its wrapper describes toffee.

Read the updated official FSA notice for further updates.
