Salmonella Alert for Eggs Stamped 3UA1012066: Check the Shell

October 10, 2026
FSA-FAFA-03-2026

The Food Standards Agency has issued a Food Alert For Action covering eggs from Yasensvit Ltd in Ukraine after Salmonella was found in some of the eggs. The 10 October notice, updated on 11 October, covers England, Northern Ireland and Wales.

What’s Affected

  • Product: Raw shell-on eggs from Yasensvit Ltd, Kyiv, Ukraine
  • Stamp on the egg: 3UA1012066
  • Pack sizes: All sizes
  • Best-before dates: All dates

Check the stamp on each egg. The FSA says these eggs may have been repacked in the UK, with different business details and packing-centre codes on the outer packaging.

What Shoppers Should Do

Do not eat eggs stamped 3UA1012066. Dispose of them at home. The FSA advises disposal rather than taking them back to a shop.

The notice says the eggs are mainly used in catering and are not sold in large supermarkets, although some may be sold in small shops. If you moved eggs into a fridge tray or another container, check the shells there too. A missing box does not prevent you checking the stamp.

What Food Businesses Should Do

Check supplies and shell stamps. Stop using or selling affected eggs, withdraw stock and recall any sold to consumers. The FSA instructs businesses to dispose of them safely and not send them for further processing.

Why This Check Differs From a Branded Recall

There is no single retail brand, box size or date to match. The shell code identifies the affected eggs, so a different name on the carton cannot settle whether they are included. Read the full stamp rather than checking only the country letters or the first digit.

If you bought eggs for someone else, send them the code and recall link so they can check their own stock. Businesses should use the official notice when discussing affected deliveries with suppliers and staff.

The FSA asks enforcement authorities to ensure businesses withdraw and recall affected eggs. That is the action behind this Food Alert For Action.
